MEET MEGAN
A Houston based Street, Lifestyle, Event and Action Sports Photographer

I grew up in the small town of Loreauville, Louisiana. As soon as I was able to, I had my hands on any technology available at the time. Maybe being in such a small town drove me to look outside of it, because even with dial up Internet (insert noises of typical dial-up modem while connecting via telephone line) I was connecting with people from all over and I have never stopped. Cameras were among the gadgets that I picked up, but I never dreamed that I would do anything outside of a safe, secure 9-5 job.
I’ve always been fascinated by the human mind and cultural aspects of our interactions. So when I began college, I majored in psychology (who didn’t), but while working a part time position, I met my first mentor who recognized my passion for technology. With his support I was able to follow that path and have had a successful career in information technology for the past 10+ years.
I am hungry for new knowledge, and anyone who knows me knows I have hundreds of hobbies. So it was just a matter of time before I picked up the camera again. My love for people in their natural surroundings is what has driven me to be a lifestyle photographer. I am constantly coming up with new ideas for my photography, always coming up with a new project. I don’t sleep enough; my mind won’t allow it. Whether it’s the next shoot, the next meeting, the next place to discover, the next thing to learn, or the next way to improve upon myself, I just don’t stop. And that’s why I keep moving forward.
Photographs are memories, they are stories, they are a way that we can stop time for a moment in a world where time is so precious. I know the value that a photograph can have in just one person’s life, and I want to capture as many of these moments for as many people as I can.
